Long before modern digital tablets such as iPads and Galaxy Tabs became essential products in our daily lives, chalkboards were widely used across Myanmar as a medium of learning. These historical slates can be referred to as the Original Tablets has been used for over a century, especially in the rural areas of Myanmar and within the Buddhist education system.
Nowadays though, there is not much of a market for slates with only two areas of Myanmar, the Irrawaddy Region, and Bago Region, where children are still using chalkboards as a substitute for paper.
